The
Noble Fir has long been considered an excellent Christmas
tree because of its majestic beauty, rich fragrance and
stiff branches. Once a Noble is cut, the tree has excellent
needle retention and when properly cared for (see
care instructions) a long lifespan in the home. The
Kirk Company farms all of their Noble Fir from plantations.
Noble bark is smooth when young. Noble Fir needles are strong
though not prickly and usually over 1 inch long. They have
a bluish-green tint on top but appear silver because of
2 white rows of stomata on the underside. Nobles are also
used to make our Boughs as
well as wreaths, door swags, garland and other Christmas
greenery.
Fun Fact: The R.A.F. Mosquito planes of World War II were
built with Noble Fir frames.
